How to develop self-love in order to acquire self-acceptance.

Self- love is the key for self-healing. In my life, I have seen many seek outside for validation for success, money, love and peace. This made me feel as though that I also had to seek validation outside for everything. It took me a while to think and understand that, nothing is outside and that everything is within us. This also led to the understanding that when we have self- love then self-acceptance naturally becomes a part of a person. This somehow, will motivate the person to have the awareness and confidence in oneself. So, one may ask what is self – love? How can one understand about self-love? In my personal opinion, self- love is accepting the way who you are. It’s alright to be different from others. If the creator made everyone alike then there is no fun in life. Self- love is acknowledging the fact that, you are worthy of who you are and that you deserve the best in life.

            There was a point in my life when I felt as though that I was not worthy enough to receive the best. This continuously made me feel agitated and depressed until one day when I woke up from the slumber and understood that I was worthy of receiving the best and that I was provided with everything that I deserved. The more I started to acknowledge and love myself for who I was and what I was blessed with, the more I started to receive blessings. Remember that, when you start loving your self-everything becomes available to you.

Do not self-sabotage your self for any reasons. Perfectionism is important however, learn to accept the way you are. It’s ok to make mistakes and learn from them. Life is all about learning and unlearning and that’s how you grow from the past. In my previous episode I spoke about affirmations and how one can be positive from just stating affirmations in life.

The basic lesson to love your self is starting with positive affirmations.

  • Eat healthy food and nourish your body with love.
  • Exercise regularly – a simple walk will give you positivity in life. Body and mind need to be healthy.
  • Always think from your heart and not your mind. This way you will be positive and will have more confidence to love yourself.
  • Don’t compare yourself to others. You are your best version, by comparing you are not going to be happy. Be unique and be the lion or the lioness in life.
  • Give your self a treat and celebrate your success.
  • If needed it’s ok to have some break for yourself in life.

The reason this quote is very inspiring and important is that,  we need to be around like minded people. It is so important to have good company. If the company you keep is not helping you to achieve the purpose of your life, you need to re-evaluate your choices. Always the answers to everything is within your self. Listen to your heart and follow the inner voice. Therefore, love your self. You are the perfect sculpture ever made by the divine.  As stated by Sathya Sai Baba, my spiritual teacher, we are a spiritual being having a human experience.
